Member of the Week Boodles

One of Britain’s leading fine jewellers, Boodles is known for the skill of its creations, the quality of its precious gems and its commitment to brilliance, both in the cut of its diamonds and the beauty of its jewellery designs. Thanks to Boodles’ talented design team and visionary philosophy, the company continues to champion the tradition of exemplary British craftsmanship more than two centuries after its founding.

At its heart, Boodles is a family company. Established in 1798, the company’s core principles of dedication, creativity, and excellence have been passed down through six generations; today, run by brothers Nicholas and Michael Wainwright, and assisted by the next generation, Jody Wainwright and James Amos.

Boodles designs have become a red carpet favourite adorning leading actresses such as Dame Helen Mirren, Kate Winslet, Emma Thompson, Emma Watson and Naomi Watts to name but a few. Furthermore, Boodles’ iconic Raindance Ring now resides in the permanent jewellery collection of the world-renowned Victoria and Albert Museum in London.

Never content to rest on its laurels, Boodles continues to evolve and strive for excellence. This commitment to creating the extraordinary, in addition to the company’s impeccable reputation and prestige in the arena of fine jewellery, also led to Boodles being chosen as the star of a Channel 4 television documentary in 2014. Entitled ‘The Million Pound Necklace: Inside Boodles’, the documentary was produced by the award-winning team behind the programme ‘Inside Claridge’s’ and was watched by a global audience of over two million.

For several years, Boodles has collaborated with the iconic Royal Ballet on an exquisite jewellery collection. From the joining of these two well-loved British brands, “Pas de Deux: Inspired by The Royal Ballet” was born; a dynamic collection of fine jewellery that translates the very essence of dance into intricate diamond and platinum designs. The collection received a high degree of recognition and coverage.

Boodles continues to grow, improve and innovate; and 2016 was no exception with the introduction of a stunning coloured diamond collection, ‘Finely Coloured’; a selection of suites with a specific focus on coloured diamonds, ranging from intense yellows, to pink, green, bluish-green and purplish pink, set in a variety of characteristically Boodles designs. Furthermore in September 2016 Boodles unveiled a new collaboration with luxury interiors brand De Gournay, consisting of a stunning butterfly themed suite of jewellery featuring the finest-quality rare, yellow and cognac diamonds; a collection of autumnal treasures that were then incorporated into a bespoke  De Gournay wallpaper design.

And the future for Boodles continues to look bright, with a new high jewellery collection consisting of show-stopping, design-orientated pieces and various other exciting projects on the horizon.

Boodles flagship showroom resides on London’s Bond Street and, following a major expansion and renovation in late 2015, now spans over 2,500 square feet and features an exclusive ‘Boodles apartment’, a private VIP room, specialised engagement ring area, and in-house workshop, as well as an entrance onto Albemarle Street. Boodles also has four other central London stores including boutiques in Harrods and The Savoy Hotel, three stores in the North of England and one in Dublin.
