A Summer of Luxury | Holiday with… Philip Shaw, Co-Founder, Savernake Knives

As the end of the Summer approaches, we hit the A303 with Philip Shaw, Co-founder of Savernake Knives, (and the rest of the UK!) as he heads down to Cornwall to introduce his daughter to the sea for the first time.

Where will you be holidaying this year/where have you already been on holiday to – and why?

A fun weekend at El Fenn in Marrakesh for a celebration and then off to Cornwall to introduce our daughter to the sea for the very first time. I grew up in Devon so the summer would not be the same without a wind swept holiday on a beach and avoiding the world on the A303.

What is your ‘must-have’ item to pack in your suitcase?

We are renting a house, so apart from packing the kitchen sink I will always pack a good knife.

Where is your favourite al fresco drinking/dining spot?

Anywhere on a hill with a view, failing that a field in Wiltshire with a group of friends.

What is your holiday read this year?

Probably the daily papers and hopefully the Spectator and Private Eye.

Have you ever had a ‘lightbulb’ moment related to your business or career while taking some downtime?

Yes! Take more holiday.
