A Season of Luxury

Celebrate with... David Kendall, Marketing & Communications Director at David Collins Studio

Earlier this year, David Kendall, MarComms Director at the legendary David Collins Studio, swapped London (and interior design) for the US, where he mastered that most festive of past times: figure skating - which surely means David is perfectly placed to be today's interviewee. Read on to find out what he would like for Christmas and how he'll be spending the Most Wonderful Time of the Year...

A Season of Luxury Celebrate with... David Kendall, Marketing & Communications Director at David Collins Studio
All I want for Christmas is…

A viable Prime Ministerial candidate? An end to an increasingly partisan British media? British luxury goods? I have a bit of a fetish for gold jewellery, so I will settle for something really fabulous by Shaun Leane.

How will you be celebrating Christmas this year?

With my husband and our parents in Cambridge (respectable and restful), and then in Berlin with friends to see in the New Year (not respectable or restful).

Your favourite Christmas tradition?

David Collins Studio closes between Christmas and New Year, which is the perfect (the only?) time to see old friends (the ones that abandoned me for their kids), have long festive lunches (Kerridge’s at The Corinthia is good for that), and going to Horse Meat Disco  (because you don’t need to be up on a Monday morning for work).

Favourite festive film or song?

My husband’s favourite Christmas film is Precious, but I am more of a traditionalist and think the Bette Midler Christmas album, Cool Yule, is the perfect balance of joyfully camp and mournfully plangent.

Best place to enjoy the Christmas atmosphere?

The Walpole Christmas Carol concert. Without a doubt.
