After a high-pressure week of meetings, management and making connections, the best way to unwind is to plug in your headphones and allow a superb selection of tunes to take your brain far away from the world of work. Enter the Walpole Weekend Wind-Down: a monthly playlist of tracks created by one of our members or partners that will help you transition into an end-of-week headspace.

Our April playlist has been created by Lauren Dickinson Clarke, whose eponymous candle and home accessories brand stands as a beacon of rebellion in the world of design and fragrance. Recognised for its collection of expressive art prints and tableware, it's the "Moody Muse" scented candles that truly set the brand apart.

Each of these candles is a celebration of a brilliant woman who rejected the status quo to realise their dreams. This playlist is inspired by Mae Chee Kaew, the muse behind Lauren Dickinson Clarke's Ponderer scented candle. Born into a traditional Thai village, she faced considerable adversity from her family and husband when she chose the path of a Buddhist nun. In an era where women's roles were narrowly defined, Kaew's quest for enlightenment meant challenging deep-rooted societal norms and familial expectations. Her steadfast dedication to meditation and spiritual growth, despite these struggles, makes her a symbol of resilience and determination.

Infused with the scents of ylang ylang, jasmine, tuberose, and neroli blossom, the fragrance of the candle is inspired by the serene meditation gardens she might have found solace in. Lighting this candle is an invitation to transport yourself to moments of calm and insight, an homage to Kaew's enduring legacy and her pursuit of spiritual liberation. This accompanying playlist is equally designed to bring the essence of tranquility and enlightenment to the end of your week.
